Biltmore Estate Honeymoon
For our honeymoon my husband and I went to the Biltmore Estates in Asheville, North Carolina. The reason we chose the Biltmore as our honeymoon destination is because the Biltmore is where my husband and I first met. It was at a concert that we both attended five years earlier. We caught each other’s eye and managed to have a short conversation and exchanged phone numbers. We talked on the phone for hours and where together from that day forward.
So for obvious reasons this was our first and only choice as to where to have our honeymoon. We took a tour of the beautiful Biltmore house, which is 175,000 square feet and includes an indoor bowling alley and pool. The house itself is breathtaking. It is still furnished with much of the original furnishings and bronze sculptures. It’s filled with art, Napoleon’s chess set and a magnificent library. It was absolutely amazing.
We took the audio tour when we first arrived so we understood some of the history. It’s a great tour that you can enjoy at your own pace.
Our honeymoon was in the summer and the Biltmore has amazing flowers, including floral carpets. It is unbelievably beautiful. We also went horseback riding, hiking, and biking. We participated in wine tastings and sampled some of the great Biltmore wines from the winery that’s on the premises. We dined at some of Biltmore’s fine restaurants including Bistro and Arbor Grill. We enjoyed ice cream from the Ice Cream Parlor and sweets and coffee from the Bake Shop. We just thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.
Even if we hadn’t met at the Biltmore I still would have chosen this as the place to go for our honeymoon because it’s so romantic and lovely. We loved the experience so much that we’ve decided to go to Biltmore for our anniversary every year so we can reconnect and reminisce about the day that we met and reflect on each passing year. We hope to be able to continue the tradition for many more years to come.
I would recommend the Biltmore estates to anyone that was looking for a wonderful place to spend their honeymoon. I can’t think of a more beautiful destination in the entire United States. It is a very economical choice as well. We were able to spend two weeks there for our honeymoon. And we were never bored. There is plenty to do and see at the Biltmore.
